Established industry leaders Amazon Web Services (AWS) and NetApp have collaborated on a cloud-native storage solution that provides the data accessibility and management benefits of on-premises NetApp storage married with the simplicity, predictability, and ease of a fully managed AWS service. This fantastic combination – Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP — not only gives existing NetApp customers an easier way to extend their on-premises deployments into the cloud, but also provides AWS customers the ability to architect modern, differentiated cloud applications that provide fast, consistent user experiences.

Commvault prides itself on being the essential layer that simplifies how our customers’ data is moved and used between cloud and on-premises environments and ensuring it is protected through the entire process. In this case, we’ve tapped into the strong relationships and many years of collaboration and innovation with both AWS and NetApp and we’re delivering support for Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP with Commvault Platform Release 2023. With this newly announced support, we’ll be providing customers the ability to:

• Migrate workloads to AWS seamlessly by using Commvault to orchestrate the creation and replication of your on-premises NetApp ONTAP storage volumes to Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP.
• Protect your new modern apps in AWS that leverage high-performance NetApp storage, management, and QoS controls. Commvault snapshot, SnapVault, and SnapMirror integration provide accelerated, automation protection for your Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP workloads.
• Simplify business continuity and meet SLAs by adopting a snapshot backup, SnapVault replicated-backup, and SnapMirror mirrored-backup approach to recovering your applications in place or remote Regions.
